The 357 Magnum is a cartridge for a revolver that was created by Keith, Sharpoe & Wesson of the company Smith & Wesson. In 1934 the 357 Magnum was intorduced and based on the 38 Special Smith & Wesson Cartridge. This became the start of the "Magnum" era when refering to handgun ammo.
